Small Fellowship Groups

Small groups at our church are designed to help develop caring relationships through the study of God's Word as we meet weekly in homes to apply Scripture to real life situations. Groups of 8-12 people will begin meeting in September 2009. A variety of studies are available, as outlined below.  Please contact Buck Oliphant for more information or to be part of a small fellowship group.

According to John 15:10-12, our joy is made complete through loving relationships between believers in Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit is speaking through the Apostle John to communicate that “if” we love one another “then” our  joy will be made complete.

The most effective vehicle ever devised to help develop caring and loving relationships is the small group concept.  Not only is the small group concept of 8-12 people the best instrument for developing loving relationships, but it is also the ideal size for maximum learning to take place.

Our small group ministry will begin the week of September 13, 2009, and will conclude before Thanksgiving.  We are providing four types of small groups.  Please choose the one which interests you the most.

    1. Monthly “Dinner 8” in members’ homes to let us get to know different people each month.  Relation building questions are available.

    2. Relational Bible study small group to study God’s Word and grow to love and accept the members of the group.

    3. Discipleship small group which requires some daily Bible reading and answering questions in preparation for the meeting.

    4. Service-oriented small group.  These groups will meet weekly with a focus on serving once a month through one of the many mission organizations that are involved in The Gathering, allowing you to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus to our community.
