Christ said, "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." Matthew 20:28 Like the early church, deacons today are called to be the "hands" of Christ's body. They serve together as a Board of Deacons and are the church's instrument of compassion and service to others. Biblically qualified deacons serve the needs of the church family as well as the needs of the community.
