The Get Together

About the Mission

The Get Together holds monthly luncheons in The Barn at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church. At these luncheons, business people and representatives from partner ministries work together to find creative ways to meet ministry needs.

History

The Get Together began in 2003 as an outreach of The Gathering of Men to give men opportunities to serve inner city ministries. It is now a separate 501 c 3 organization that utilizes the gifts of both Christian men and women in serving Christ-centered ministries. In 2008, Get Together Northwest was established in the Spring/1960 area to serve ministries and involve business people in that area of Houston.

Vision

To see business people grown in their relationship with Christ by serving in ministries using the ways God has uniquely gifted them for business.

Mission

The mission of The Get Together is to engage business people in serving Christ-centered ministries using the gifts that God has equipped them with to run their businesses. These gifts include their particular professional expertise, network of contacts and entrepreneurial and life experience.

2012 Goals

1. Develop Replication Package to be used by groups wanting to start a Get Together in their area. Will include operations manual, website and newsletter templates, logo and graphic design for publication and consultation time for Executive Director and Board.

1. God would speak clearly to our Board about HIS vision for our ministry and how HE wants us to implement it.
2. God would continue to bring business people to our meetings and give us creativity in meeting ministry needs.
3. God would provide the funding needed to grow the ministry.
